Maria Hunt is a primarily figurative artist currently living and working in London. Her practice explores the space between the specific and the universal and, in particular, the boundary between individual and collective memory. Hunt is interested in questions around womanhood, identity and female pain in the 21st century, seeking to bear witness to the many ways in which these questions play out in Western culture.
Hunt trained at the Barcelona Academy of Art and holds a BA in Theology from the University of Oxford.
